Browns place C Brian Allen on injured list –

According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, the Browns are placing C Brian Allen on the injured list after suffering a calf injury during training camp.

In correspondence, Kay Cabot adds that Cleveland G. Zach Johnson add to selection.

Allen, 28, is a former fourth-round pick of the Rams in 2018. He was playing out the final year of his four-year, $3.1 million contract.

For the first time in his NFL career, he tested the open market as an unrestricted free agent when he agreed to a three-year, $24 million contract to remain with the Rams through 2022.

The Rams released Allen last February.

In 2023, Allen played five games for the Rams.
