Fresno native Lynn Williams scores goal for the United States at the Olympics

Lynn Williams, a Fresno native, scored a goal for the United States in their 4-1 victory over Germany at the Paris Olympics.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Lynn Williams, a Fresno native, scored a goal for the United States in their 4-1 victory over Germany at the Paris Olympics.

Williams was brought on in the 85th minute and scored four minutes later.

The 4-1 victory sent the women’s team into the quarter-finals, with one match remaining in the group stage.

This was Williams’ 18th goal for the women’s national team and her second Olympic goal.

Their final group stage match is against Australia on Wednesday.

The Bullard High player was originally named as a reserve for the team, but was called up after Catarina Marcario was unable to play due to a knee problem.

Williams also recently represented the United States at the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
