Whole Foods opens East Village Market on 14th Street – Commercial Observer

Amazon (AMZN) is making Stuyvesant City completely through his Complete nutrition supermarket chain to 409 East 14th Street.

Whole Foods signed a lease for 20,000 square feet in the Black Stone (BX)-own development for the 18th location of the supermarket chain in the city, the New York Post reported. It will take up the space vacated in 2019 by Associated supermarkets.

Black stone And SCG Retail‘S Pursuit Welleswho typically does business with Whole Foods in the city, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The After did not have details on the terms of the deal, but the average rent for a retail space in Manhattan was $716 per square foot in the second quarter of 2024, according to a report by CBRE.

The news of a Whole Foods in the East Village coincides with the opening of a long-awaited Trader Joe’s bee 123 West 125th Street in Harlem. The supermarket chain leased a 28,000-square-foot space in the retail section of the company’s headquarters National Urban League in January 2021.

Trader Joe’s is located directly across from Whole Foods on West 125th Street.
