PSP Roundup: Officers Investigate Stolen Goat in Greencastle, Multiple Criminal Offenses

July 29, 2024 – Pennsylvania State Police do not have any suspects publicly available at this time, but say they are investigating the theft of a goat earlier this month in Greencastle. PSP was dispatched to a location on Barr Road in Antrim Township around 9 a.m. on July 15 for the theft of a goat. At this time, PSP says they are investigating the incident.


A Shippensburg man is facing harassment charges following an incident in Southampton Township last month. Officers say Kenneth Severt, 56, of Shippensburg is facing domestic violence and public intoxication charges following an incident at a home on Thornwood Road. That incident occurred around 9:50 p.m. on June 19, and involved a Shippensburg woman and an underage male named as victims.


Troopers say a North Carolina man is facing charges after he was pulled over in his 2000 Chevrolet Astro Van on July 7. PSP pulled over the vehicle, driven by Steven Faust of Newton, NC, after PSP observed traffic violations near Exit 14 on I-81NB.

Trooper says due to a number of factors they requested and were granted a search of the vehicle, reportedly finding multiple items of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested, processed and released shortly thereafter.


A criminal damage incident outside of Chambersburg is being investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police today. PSP was initially called to Merakey on Edenville Road, Hamilton Township for a criminal damage incident involving property damage around 5:30 p.m. on July 2.

According to officers, approximately $500 in damage was done to a garage door window at that facility, and there are no suspects listed at this time. Anyone with information about the incident should contact PSP Chambersburg, reference number PA 2024-862121.


The theft of copper pipe and a propane tank last month outside of Chambersburg is being investigated by PSP. Officers say that sometime between 12:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on June 27, 25 feet of copper pipe and a propane tank, each valued at $100 and $50 respectively, were taken from a location on Gilbert Road in Hamilton Township. About $1,000 in damage was reportedly done to a home in Saint Thomas earlier this week, as Pennsylvania State Police continue to investigate. Officers say they were dispatched to a home on School House Road around 5:50 p.m. on July 27 for an incident of criminal damage.

Upon speaking with the victim, officers say a rock was thrown through a window, causing approximately $800 in damage to the window and $200 in damage to the screen attached to the window. Anyone with information regarding the incident should contact PSP Chambersburg, reference number PA 2024-979613.
