Wanted man accused of burglary and forgery arrested in Albany

ALBANY, La. (BRPROUD) — A wanted man from Tangipahoa Parish has been arrested by Albany police.

According to police, on Monday, July 29, the APD received a report of a wanted suspect, Christopher Wittie, located in the area of ​​Julia Street.


Wittie was wanted by the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office on multiple charges, including burglary and forgery.

“When Wittie saw APD, he fled on foot. Springfield Police, Killian Police, LPSO Police and detectives were called to assist and set up a perimeter. LPSO K9s were also requested,” said Albany Police Chief Boyd Wild.

Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard said, “While on the perimeter, LPSO officers, our K9 partners, and APD officers were dispatched to Leslie St. Officers surrounded that residence. Our LPSO K9 would quickly locate and apprehend the suspect who was hiding under a tarp.”

Wittie was arrested and booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center on multiple charges.
