Golden waves of wheat roll in the wind as large combine harvesters slowly drive through the fields. The wheat cobs are swallowed in the threshing box and each fat kernel is deposited in the grain store, while the crushed wheat straw is spat out behind the combine. This is the busy scene during the wheat harvest in Jinchang, Gansu Province.

During harvest, reliable electricity supply is crucial. In order to better guarantee food safety and production during the critical wheat harvest season, State Grid Jinchang Power Supply Co. leverages its role as a pioneer in serving agriculture, rural areas and farmers. The company organizes its staff to serve users in the field and publicize the protection of electrical equipment to ensure safe electricity use during wheat harvest.

The company has developed a power supply plan for wheat harvest, which describes the division of labor, clear tasks and stricter line inspection regulations. The company immediately resolves any existing hazards to ensure the safe supply of power to the lines. During peak power consumption at night, the company carries out additional inspections of the lines and equipment in the area to eliminate various safety hazards and weak points in the operation of the equipment.

Huge combine harvesters shuttle back and forth through the golden waves of wheat, across the fields. At the same time, humming transformers continuously supply electricity to every corner of the wheat fields.

In response to the increased electricity consumption during the summer harvest, the company has further simplified the electricity application process and opened a green channel. They have set up multiple service channels, such as power supply companies, government counters, power stations, village grid construction and online services. The efforts allow rural customers to apply for electricity without leaving the village, providing fast and convenient power supply for harvesting, planting and field management.

The company also organized members of the Party Member Service Team, electrical connection personnel and network members to work together to go deep into the wheat fields during the harvest. They placed warning signs on poles and wires in the wheat fields, added collision prevention bars at special locations, and intensified publicity about the protection of electrical equipment. Through platforms such as text messages, electrical safety manuals and promotional photos, they taught agricultural machinery operators how to protect electrical equipment.

So far, the company has visited the fields 50 times, distributed more than 200 pieces of promotional materials and guided farmers in eliminating 11 different safety hazards in the area.
