Fargo continues to grow as more people move to North Dakota

FARGO, ND (KVRR) — North Dakota’s population hit a new record of nearly 784,000 people last July, and many new residents are making their home in Fargo.

The city is full of fun events and new adventures, but for others it is the start of something new.

People are turning to Facebook groups like the Fargo/Moorhead Community Page to learn more about the area.

Fargo is expected to have a population of 340,000 by 2045.

In Fargo alone, that number now stands at 135,000, and in FM Metro, it’s 258,000.

“Based on the people that I’ve met and the interactions that I’ve had, I would say that it’s primarily jobs that people move for. We have a lot of great things about North Dakota, I mean, it’s a very safe state. Um, we have jobs and a lot of other amenities, but I would say jobs are probably a pretty big driving factor for why people move,” said Tifanie Gelinske with Fargo Moorhead Economic Development.

Within these groups, many people move from, for example, California.
