Special Joe Buck-Chip Caray Cardinals Broadcast Creates Excitement Among Fans

That scenario sounds like a scene straight out of the ’50s and ’60s. Buck and Caray were just kids in the late ’60s, but Buck’s father, Jack, and Caray’s grandfather, Harry Caray, were the voices of the Cardinals in those days. Though both men had extensive broadcasting credits elsewhere — Buck covered NFL and network MLB games, Caray was the regular voice of the Chicago Cubs on TV — they’re still legends among Cardinals fans.

What could be better than getting (Joe) Buck and (Chip) Caray back together?

The Cardinals had scheduled that for a game in late May, but rain canceled it, canceling the broadcast of Monday night’s game against the Texas Rangers.

Caray donned his grandfather’s signature glasses. The pair shared stories, including Buck recalling his PBP work when the Cardinals won the 2011 World Series and comparing it to his father’s work during the 1991 World Series.
