Aspinal of London launches travel-focused collection with five new bags

Aspinal of London has unveiled a new offering with the launch of The Como Collection, “inspired by the timeless appeal of Lake Como’s breathtaking landscape and sophisticated atmosphere”.

Key to the brand, and the collection featuring a range of popular Aspinal styles, is the introduction of no fewer than five new bag silhouettes. These include the Resort Flight Bag, Resort Tote, Small Bowling Bag, Bella Grande and Bella Crossbody Pouch.

The launch comes just a month after the company announced Laura Brown as its new CEO (she arrives after a career at major luxury brands including Harrods, Bicester Village and the Dubai Mall).

It also comes a few months after the company’s latest results showed it recovered last year, with revenue growth of 19% and EBITDA growth of 32%.

What does the new collection look and feel like?

Celebrating “the joy of discovery and the allure of adventure”, it is a travel-focused collection “inspired by the timeless elegance of the jet set”. beautiful world”. And it comes with classic silhouettes and a palette “inspired by lakeside hues (that) evoke a sense of nostalgia and eternal appeal, inviting travelers to journey in quintessential style.”

In practice, that means a palette of lush neutrals like oatmeal and brown, which we’re told are “reminiscent of sunset beaches and the driftwood sculptures popular in waterfront homes.” There are also shades of blue meant to echo the waters of Lake Como, and a versatile brown (called cognac) that reflects the “warm, rich tones of fine brandy.”

The pieces come in a variety of finishes, with the woven canvas intended to evoke images of sailing yachts and sun-bleached waterfronts, while the velvety texture and subtle sheen of nubuck leather is reminiscent of soft beach towels and sun-warmed sand. All pieces are finished in leather.
