Story Time with Mr. Howard: 11am Wednesday morning in Literacy Park weather permitting, library weather permitting. Gather 2 Grow lunches after story time. Stories, music and movement.

Saturday Story Time: 11:00-11:45am Join Mr. Howard on the second Saturday of each month for stories, music and movement.

Creativebug Arts and Crafts Workshops: 4:00-5:00 pm on the second Tuesday of each month. Open to all ages, but children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. August Crafts: Working with Collage.

Game on: Friday 3:30-5:30pm. Try library board games or make something with Lego bricks. Most games will be available to borrow after the event.

STEM lab: 4:00-5:00 pm on the second Wednesday of each month. Activities that engage participants in problem solving and critical thinking. For ages 9-13. August topic: Concepts of Electricity.

Family STEM evening: 4:00-5:00 pm on the third Thursday of each month. Explore science, technology, engineering, and math activities as a family. For ages 5-8 with an adult. August topic: money and math.

Collect 2 Grow: 11:30am – 12:30pm, Monday through Friday, starting June 3. BRCL offers free lunch to children and teens up to age 18 and adults with disabilities up to age 26.

Snack adventures around the world: Fridays 4-6pm, June 14-Aug 16. Sample snacks from around the world while doing a different activity each week, including video games, movies, crafts, and more. For ages 13-18.

The adventure begins in your library: June 10 – August 17. Register for the 2024 Summer Reading Program.

Comedian, magician and entertainer Cameron Zvara: 2:00 pm on Aug. 1 at Literacy Park. All ages welcome.

Excursions into nature: 1:00 p.m. Aug. 3 Learn about overlooked, hidden, and unique destinations in Michigan with Ron Rademacher. Local attractions near each scenic area are discussed.

A nature adventure: 10 a.m. Aug. 12 at the Pavilion in Northend Riverside Park. Resident botanist, ecologist and ethnobiologist will present how the riverside forest tells the story of Big Rapids’ past.

Late Night, Date Night: 8:45-10:45 p.m. Aug. 16 at Literacy Park. Pick up a free movie ticket at the library before the show. Bring your ticket to be entered into a drawing at the end of the show. More information is available at bigrapidslibrary.org/movies.
