The joint meeting of the Kayseri Chamber of Commerce and the Kayseri Stars Award ceremony were held at KTO

Mehmet UZEL / KAYSERİ (İGFA) – The meeting took place in the conference hall of the Kayseri Chamber of Commerce (KTO); AK Party Vice Chairman Mustafa Elitaş, Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and World Chamber Federation M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Governor Gökmen Çiçek, Mayor of Memduh Büyükkılıç Metropolitan Municipality, KTO Leader Ömer Gülsoy, KAYSO Chairman Mehmet Büyüksimitci, Kayseri Commodity Exchange Leader Recep Bağlamış and leaders of the District Chamber, Provincial Protocol, KGF Chairman Erdoğan Özegen, Nevşehir Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman M. Arif Parmaksız, leaders of the Chamber and Stock Exchange Assembly, members of the Assembly and Appeal Committees, members of the High Advisory Council, board members of women entrepreneurs and young entrepreneurs. Representatives of the business community and officials from the companies receiving the award were present.

Before the award ceremony, a joint council meeting of the Chamber of Scholarships was held. The agenda items were accepted. KTO Chairman Ömer Gülsoy, who gave the opening speech of the program in which Kayseri’s star companies were awarded, stated in his speech that he condemned the outrageous statements of Israeli Foreign Minister Katz against our president in the harshest way. Gülsoy said: “This is not Iraq, the ends are not tied with a ruler. You are a bunch of baby murderers and genociders. Do not confuse the Republic of Turkey with the states that applaud your atrocities and remain silent. “Know your place,” he said.

GÜLSOY: I ACCEPT ALL OUR EXPORTERS AS ‘AKINCI’

Gülsoy said that the rapidly changing and transforming world is going through a sensitive process: “We live in a world of brutal competition where multiple crises such as wars, climate crisis, economic crisis, epidemics and income inequality are experienced. Despite all the setbacks we have experienced, especially since the economic attack in 2018; We have a business world that never lags behind in its efforts, puts its state and nation first, strives and works without getting discouraged or demoralized. We have a tough process ahead of us. In fact, it is not easy to be an exporter at this time. You will compete on price and quality standards and you will find new markets. Exporting in a world where China is attacking everywhere and where there is conservative policy is really a problem. “I consider all our exporters as ‘Akıncı’,” he said.

“WE DO NOT HAVE A CLOSED FACTORY IN KAYSERİ”

Referring to the problems of the business world, Gülsoy stated that they face problems such as high energy costs, burdens on employment, difficulties in obtaining financing, problems related to foreign currency, difficulties in obtaining visas, transport-logistical problems and the fact that valuable strategic industrial investments in Turkey are concentrated in certain regions. Speaking about the news that factories in Kayseri were closed due to the incidents with Syrian immigrants, Gülsoy said: “A group of negative reports about our city as a result of the tragic incident that we experienced in our city does not reflect the truth. We do not have a factory that has been closed. Moreover, we never accept the unfounded comments about our ancient city, which is the capital of trade, has 4,500 years of commercial history, has made the greatest contribution to the development of the country’s economy by giving a current surplus with its 100 years of production experience, and has entrepreneurs and investors in many parts of our country. Again, we should not pay attention to the negative news about some of our companies, related to the private sector that has emerged recently. There is no truth in this news. “Those who publish such news and give prestige should know that they are the ones who suffer the greatest damage,” he said.

KTB Chairman Recep Bağlamış, who took the stage after Gülsoy, stated that the world is undergoing a rapid process of change and that the way of doing business is changing due to the innovations in technology. He said: “We follow the innovations and conduct studies to inform our members in this area.”

TOBB board member and KAYSO chairman Mehmet Büyüksimitci said that Kayseri’s greatest wealth is the structure of overcoming problems with the understanding of unity and solidarity. Büyüksimitci made statements about the problems experienced by industrialists and proposed solutions, and also mentioned the new project they have implemented as the Kayseri Chamber of Industry to support vocational education and said: “As industrialists, we have signed a new project to meet qualified human resources in Kayseri and direct our students to vocational education. . 9 TL per month to 50 students enrolled in the 1000th class of Anatolian Vocational and Technical High Schools in the fields of mechanical and design technology, metal technology, furniture and interior design, according to their LGS score rankings, and 3 TL per month to the top 2000 students enrolled, regardless of the field with the highest LGS score. We will provide a scholarship of TL. “Our industrialists will provide the scholarships in harmony with our chamber,” he said.

HİSARCIKLIOĞLU: KAYSERİ IS A REAL BRAND CITY

Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Chairman of the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and the World Chambers Federation, stated that Kayseri is one of the star cities of Turkey and said the following.

“Kayseri has become the center and symbol of trade. It is the role model and inspiration of this entire geography. Kayseri is a real brand city with its country, people and economy. Moreover, we have achieved all this with the efforts and dedication of our own Kayseri entrepreneurs and philanthropists. We are unique in Turkey in this sense. We have not asked or received anything from the state. We have come here entirely with our own resources. I say that everyone should know the value of our companies, which will receive the awards they deserve. Because now the source of power of countries and even cities is their entrepreneurs. If your entrepreneur is strong, your country will be strong and your city will be strong too. That is why I see you as the apple of the eye of Kayseri and Turkey, and as proud examples of Kayseri’s business community. I would like to thank you once again for giving me the opportunity to be with you on such a day and for inviting me.”

HİSARCIKLIOĞLU: KAYSERI IS READY FOR CENTRAL ANATOLIA PRODUCTION BASE

Stating that industrial facilities in the Marmara region are at risk of earthquakes, Hisarcıklıoğlu said: “As TOBB, there is an issue that we always keep on the agenda: the establishment of the Central Anatolian Production Basin. Due to the earthquake risk, there is a need to both reduce density and accelerate urban transformation in the Marmara region. For this, a new industrial basin should be created in the Central Anatolia-East Mediterranean region. If we can create such a new production basin, including Kayseri, we will solve the problem of not being able to find investment areas for our industry. We will reduce the burden on the Marmara region and make room for high-value-added production in Marmara. Kayseri is ready for this. Our traders and industrialists have made Kayseri the star of this geography. Therefore, I believe that Kayseri will take a place among the winners of the future.”

BÜYÜKKILIÇ: OUR GREATEST WEALTH IS OUR UNITY, TOGETHER

Describing Kayseri as the city of ancient civilizations, the city of investors and the city of philanthropists, Kayseri Municipality Mayor Memduh Büyükkılıç said: “We are careful to develop Kayseri in every field. Our greatest wealth is our unity, solidarity, brotherhood and solidarity. Thank God, we experience the grace of this. It is not for us to alienate, but to embrace. We exist to serve. We exist to represent our city in the most beautiful way,” he said.

ELİTAŞ: AFTER A WEEK WE WILL HAVE INFLATION OF AROUND 60-61 PERCENT

AK Party Deputy Chairman Mustafa Elitaş stated that the economic measures that started in June 2023 had started to bear fruit, saying: “We saw that inflation, which was 75 percent for the first time in May, dropped below 70 percent in June. I claim that with the new inflation figures that will be announced a week later, we will see an inflation rate of around 60 to 61 percent. The same drop will continue in the coming month. In the coming month, we will probably see an inflation rate of around 50-52 percent, unless something extraordinary happens. If we believe in the economic program proposed by the economic administration and encourage them to be morally motivated, we will see an inflation rate of between 38 and 40 percent by the end of the year. “I congratulate our valuable industrial friends who are making efforts and operating within this framework,” he said.

HIGHWAY GOOD NEWS FROM ELİTAŞ

Delivering the good news that they are planning to connect the Niğde-Ankara highway with Kayseri, AK Party deputy chairman Elitaş said: “We will have a high-speed train in 2027-2028. “Hopefully, we plan to fully construct the dual carriageway on the highway before 2030, starting from Kayseri and going to Istanbul,” he said.
