Giants sign OL Greg Van Roten –

Giants sign OL, according to Art Stapleton Greg Van Roten to a contract.

Van Roten, 34, originally signed with the Packers in 2012 as an undrafted free agent out of Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, he was cut after the preseason, but he later signed to the Packers’ practice squad.

After the Packers cut Van Roten in 2014, he played a brief stint with the Seahawks before eventually signing with the Jaguars in February 2017. Unfortunately, Jacksonville released Van Roten after the draft and he eventually signed a one-year deal with the Panthers.

As a restricted free agent, Van Roten instead signed a two-year extension with Carolina prior to the 2018 season. From there, the Jets signed him to a three-year, $10.5 million contract in 2020. New York let him go after claiming G Nate Herbig In May 2022, he was claimed off waivers and joined the Bills.

The Raiders signed Van Roten to a contract through the 2023 season. He became a free agent in 2024 and recently visited the Seahawks in April and the Giants earlier this month.

In 2023, Van Roten appeared in all 17 games for the Raiders, making 17 starts. Pro Football Focus had him rated the No. 7 guard out of 79 qualifying players.
