China and South Africa win their first gold medals at the Paris Olympics

China today became champions of the mixed doubles table tennis tournament at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, beating the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea 4-2.

Chinese couple Wang Chuqin And Sun Yingsha defeated the North Korean team, confirming their status as the main favorites to win the title, according to

Earlier in the Olympic campaign, shooters had Huang Yuting And Sheng Lihao won China’s first gold medal in the mixed 10-meter air rifle team event. Lihao, the reigning world record holder, dominated the competition, scoring 252.2 points and setting a new Olympic record.

China continued to dominate in ski jumping, winning two gold medals in Paris. The men’s pair Yang Hao And Lian Junjie performed six perfect dives in the 10-meter platform final, scoring 490.35 points and winning their first Olympic title in synchronized swimming.

South Africa’s gold medal was another notable achievement. Swimmer Tatjana Smith27, won her second Olympic gold medal by winning the 100-meter breaststroke.

From July 26 to August 11, representatives of the BRICS countries took part in athletics, weightlifting, equestrian sports, swimming, taekwondo, boxing, wrestling and other disciplines.
